Can I buy just the kit and build it myself?
Yes. Kit Only orders are delivered to your site with engineer-stamped drawings and an assembly guide. Many customers use their own crew or contractor.
Who installs the buildings?
Installation is done by our sister company, Southern Lake Builders, a licensed Georgia general contractor. It also handles sitework, concrete and full barndominium finish-outs.
Do I need a permit?
Most counties require a permit for new buildings, especially homes. Every building comes with engineer-stamped drawings for your county, and we'll help you through the permit process.
Can you finish the inside of a barndominium?
Yes. With the Turnkey option, Southern Lake Builders finishes the whole home: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, insulation, drywall, cabinets, flooring and fixtures.
Can I change a sample floor plan?
Yes. The sample plans are starting points. Rooms, sizes, porches and shop space can all be adjusted, and your stamped drawings are made for the final layout.
How long does it take?
It depends on the building size, permits and your site. We'll give you a realistic schedule with your quote.
Where do you deliver and install?
We deliver kits anywhere in the Southeast. Southern Lake Builders installs buildings within about 2 hours of middle Georgia and the Lake Oconee and Lake Sinclair area. Outside that range, we ship the kit for you or your own contractor to put up.
